My Story

Hello, my name is Sophie Jones and I am 23 years old. On the 5th May 2024 I am running a half marathon to raise money for Rays of Sunshine.

Rays of Sunshine is a charity that grants wishes for children that have disabilities. This charity is very close to my heart. My sister and I were both granted wishes from Rays of sunshine because we both have Cystic Fibrosis. Sadly in 2017 my sister passed away at the age of 20 but my family will always be greatful of Rays of sunshine for making my sisters final dream come true.

Running a half marathon is a massive challenge for me. I suffer with cystic fibrosis which has a massive impact on my lungs. Running 1 mile can have a massive impact on my lungs so running 13 miles is going to be a massive push for me. However, I am ready to push through to raise money for charity.

I am raising money for Rays of sunshine because after what they have done for me and my sister, I want to be able to give back to them and help other children with a disability get a wish that they deserve.

Thank you for taking your time to read my story. Any donations is highly appreciated x
