Celebrating age 70 by running for Age UK Birmingham and Sandwell! Seeking your help and support!
Melrose Stewart
My Story
In 2024, I will be celebrating my 70th birthday and to mark this great milestone, I am planning to run my first official half marathon in the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run 2024 to raise funds for Age UK Birmingham and Age UK Sandwell!
Why?
Because, I recognise that many people my age are not as fortunate as I am to have good health. Faced with physical, as well as mental health challenges, many old people suffer in silence and struggle to complete the simple daily tasks many of us take for granted.
How you can help?
Please:
1 Click on my fundraising page and make a donation
2 Share this information about my run
3 Follow me on social media, twitter @melrosestewart1, instagram, linkedin and facebook and on my web page at melrosestewart.com
4 Come out on run day and cheer me on.
My motto is, ‘Keep making your dreams a reality in old age’. Getting old does not mean life’s journey is downhill.
With your help and support, we can make a difference.
All donations are welcome, no matter how small. You can be assured that whatever you give, it will be used by Age UK Birmingham and Age UK Sandwell to support older people to remain independent, stay connected and enjoy a good quality of life.
In the meantime, keep an eye on this space in the lead up to my big challenge on 5th May 2024 and keep sharing any messages of support, encouragement, and any tips you have to make ageing a positive experience for all.
Thank you.
