My Story

Many of you will know that in October 2021; a few days after my 26th birthday, 38 weeks pregnant with our 3rd daughter I found a large lump in my neck. By the time our baby was 6 weeks old, after an ultrasound scan we knew this lump was cancer.

Fast forward to May 2022 through lots of delays and appointments, fine needle aspirations and finally surgery, we had a definitive answer. It was papillary thyroid cancer, but my surgeon was confident that it was all removed. I've been monitored regularly since.

So in May 2023 we marked 1 year all clear, by getting married, and May this year I've chosen to participate in the Great Birmingham Run, to mark 2 years all clear!

I've just had our 4th baby, and at 7 week post partum, I'm beginning my training for this half marathon as my first ever running event!!šŸ¤Æ I'd love to raise some money for The British Thyroid Foundation, who raise awareness for all types of thyroid disease, and support patients at all stages on their journey!
